We are a group of organisations united by one purpose: to protect forests, other natural ecosystems and human rights worldwide.

We strive for EU action because we know what’s at stake: the future of nature, the survival of countless animals, the rights of Indigenous peoples, and the wellbeing of all living things.

In 2020 we aimed to secure a strong EU (anti)deforestation law to protect the world’s forests and other ecosystems. An ambitious law that would ensure that commodities and products placed on the European market are not linked to deforestation, forest degradation, ecosystem conversion or degradation, nor to human rights violations.

That is how the Together4Forests campaign came to life.

Under the leadership of ClientEarth, Conservation International, Environmental Investigation Agency, Fern, Global Witness, Greenpeace, and WWF, this campaign united 220 NGOs from across the globe, mobilising over 1.2 million citizens to support the adoption of an EU law that stops EU-driven deforestation.

This collective effort led to the adoption of the world’s first law targeting global deforestation, which was voted in June 2023, and is set to significantly reduce the EU’s footprint on nature, when the rules will apply, starting on 30 December 2025.
